A team from Gorkha Rifles from Mount Abu reached Udaipur on Tuesday evening. They cycled their way to Udaipur with a mission to encourage youth to join Indian Army. The Gorkha Rifles team visited various districts and met families of martyrs and other soldiers. They spoke to families regarding the troubles they are facing after the soldiers in their family attained martyrdom. These Gorkhas even visited schools and encouraged the children to join Army and serve the nation.

The 8 member team under Captain Arnav Maggu left Mount Abu on 4th December. They covered Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, Haldighati, Chittorgarh, Bassi and Neemuch under their mission and reached Eklingarh Cantonment on Tuesday evening. Here they were heartily welcomed by Brigadier of 30 Infantry Brigade. Brigade Commander said that after the success of this campaign, it will be carried out in other districts as well in second stage.

The Gorkha Rifles team has covered a distance of 650 kilometres and met families of around 120 soldiers. They even gave gifts to school children. School children asked them questions about various aspects of army. The team encouraged the children to join army.

The Gorkha Rifles team also went for trekking in Bassi wildlife sanctuary. The other members of the team apart from Captain Arnav Maggu are Tapan Guru, Shyam Kshatriya, Maan Singh, Tek Bink, Man Bahadur and Bahadur.
