Govt denies IGP Rai to join IIM-U as Professor
Despite of being offered the position as Professor at IIM Udaipur, IGP Rajnish Rai’s request to be relieved from the government service has been declined. Rai was under questioning of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case (2006-07) but came clean.
Despite of being offered the position as Professor at IIM Udaipur, IGP Rajnish Rai’s request to be relieved from the government service has been declined. Rai was under questioning of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case (2006-07) but came clean.
Rai alleged that he is constantly taking heat from government on the fake encounter case despite of the fact that he came out clean.
In the middle of this scene, Rai also enrolled in Hyderabad based University to study Patent Laws and successfully secured first rank in 2007-08.
In addition to this, Rai’s wife – IAS Vatsala Vasudev has also been said no to join United Nations Development Programme. She was shortlisted for the same by Prime Minister’s office in 2010.
Commenting on the request by Rajnish Rai, Even the Central Administrative Tribunal, New Delhi, has noted in its order delivered on Monday that “Rai had been offered the post of professor in Business Policy and Strategy Area by IIM, Udaipur but he was not relieved despite his repeated requests.”
