Rajasthan Govt's Urban Employment Scheme

UdaipurTimes, Nov 3, 2026 - Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Shahri Rojgar Guarantee Yojana (MSRGY), earlier called Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, is a Rajasthan government scheme that provides wage employment opportunities to eligible families living in urban areas of the State. The scheme aims to support urban households that need work and income by engaging eligible residents in public development, maintenance, cleanliness and environmental conservation activities.
Under the MSRGY scheme, eligible families can receive up to 125 days of wage employment per year, helping them earn income while contributing to the improvement of their cities and towns. Initially, the scheme guaranteed 100 days of wage employment per eligible family each year. In 2023, the Rajasthan government increased this guarantee from 100 days to 125 days, with the revised provision taking effect from April 1, 2023.
This yojana primarily focuses on urban households. Eligible family members aged 18 to 60 years can register for the scheme subject to the applicable requirements. Applicants need a Jan Aadhaar number or Jan Aadhaar enrolment details, and eligible family members must appear in the family's Jan Aadhaar records.
Applicants can register through the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) portal or seek assistance from an authorised e-Mitra centre. Those who do not have a Jan Aadhaar Card should first visit an e-Mitra centre to complete Jan Aadhaar registration before applying.
