Continuing the administrative control spree, G.S. Sandhu, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing, Rajasthan declined and dismissed the proposed Elevated Road Project to be made between City Station Road and Court Chauraha.
In a meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner’s office on 14th June, 2012, G.S. Sandhu asked the officials to find an alternative to the proposed elevated road and present it to the government.
This is the third time when this dream project of the UIT has fallen in the black-hole. From the inception of the idea in 2008, when even a Rs. 30 Crore tender was passed, the plan was dismissed once due to the protest of businessmen and once due to interference of Urban Development and Housing.
Sandhu explained his take as – “There maybe interference faced during the execution of the project as the businessman may protest in-between and traffic also may cause difficulties”.
