Route of Udaipur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mewar express has been changed on account of the protest by Gujjar community members on the railway track at Malarna Dungar (Sawai Madhopur).
Ram Meena of Railway Ajmer Division informed that Mewar Express will now directly go from Chittorgarh to Ajmer via Bhilwara. Thereafter the train will go to Jaipur, Bandikui, Bharatpur, Mathura towards its destination of Hazrat Nizamuddin.
Because of this route change, the following stations will be cut-off: Chanderia, Mandalgarh, Bundi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Mahavirji, Hindon City and Bayana railway station.
It may be noted that Gujjar community members have been protesting demanding 5% reservation in state jobs and educational institution. The agitation was started again yesterday by Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla on the railway tracks in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur. Supporters blocked New Delhi-Mumbai railway route after Bainsla’s Maha Panchayat on Friday.
