Udaipur, December 26, 2024 – The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for hailstorms and rain with thunder in 27 districts of Rajasthan. According to the department, the State will experience bone-chilling cold in the coming days.

Yesterday's temperatures across the State were lower during the day compared to the night. In the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature in seven cities was recorded below 10°C. Mount Abu was at 3.8°C, Sirohi, Sri Ganganagar and Churu recorded 6.6°C and Fatehpur recorded 7.4°C.

After the passage of a weak western disturbance, a new system is expected to become active in the next 24 hours. This system will be stronger and more active than the previous one. As a result, the sky will remain overcast for the next two days, i.e. today and tomorrow.

Impact of the western disturbance is likely to last for the next four days. Today, it will be overcast in Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions. Light rain is possible in some places. Tomorrow, some areas could see thunderstorm, rain and hail while on December 28, light rain is expected in parts of Kota and Bharatpur divisions. From December 29, the weather will be dry, with foggy conditions in some areas. Temperatures will continue to drop.

Yesterday, the city remained overcast and foggy throughout the day. However, despite the cold, people remained in a holiday mood and Christmas celebrations were not subdued. Tourists and locals thronged Fateh Sagar, city malls and eating places to enjoy the holiday.
