A social group devoted to solving the problems of people who belong to lower middle class and other under-privileged sections of society has been launched by few Samaritans of the Lake city.

Halla Bol– the group announced its launch on June 21, 2011. “It has now 128 members and growing every day since our objectives are clear and there is absolutely no politics or high influence involved in our foundation” said the founder of Halla Bol, Dheeraj Chhajed (35) who is also a teacher in a private school.

Halla Bol to Fight for the DestituteHalla Bol is a non- violent group, it doesn’t mean that they believe in a silent march, but, a result oriented action against wrong doings and to fetch a solution for the problems pertaining to the basic rights of needy and poor people of society who are unaware of their rights and unknown to the solution of their everyday problems.

How Halla Bol works? They have divided the city into different blocks; each block has a representative who is responsible for solving the problems related to that particular block. Problems can be anything from electricity issues to educational matters of the children’s of that area.

The block representative then passes out the problem to the core committee members of the group who thoroughly investigate the issue and if found genuine they go ahead to take further action.

The group is planning out for a demonstration in last week of July, though the date and theme is still not disclosed.

Dheeraj Chhajed ( photo above) explained ‘ I was highly inspired by the Bihar based group Halla Bol which is controlled by women, their work is so affective that I decided to do something similar in Udaipur, another motivation I got from the film Halla Bol which was released in year 2008.’ When asked what would be the future of this group in coming years, he said promptly ‘we will try and get this group being noticed all over Rajasthan and then nationwide’

However, Chhajed didn’t disclosed the names of the core committee members, but, a few leading names include Babulal Jain, Shivsingh Rathore and Chatar Singh Tanwar.

Interestingly, there is not a dot of politics involved in the group nor have they included any member from a political background. Another noteworthy point is that most of the members of the group are teachers in different schools of the city.

Dheeraj Chhajed said ‘A teacher is a person who builds a nation’ so we believe nothing more is needed to explain the quote.
