A father-daughter duo committed suicide in Udaipur city as the family was harassed by the money lenders to a great extent. Lalit Prakash was neck deep in loans that he had taken from the money lenders. These lenders would often land up at his residence and harass him for returning the amount.

As informed by certain acquaintances, the family’s property was taken over by land-mafia. Following this he took loan to acquire back his property. The money taken from the money lenders proved to be a noose on the neck. On the day of the suicide, the father and daughter had some dispute regarding this money. One of these lost mental control and committed suicide and the other followed suit. The bodies of the father and the daughter were found hanging from the same saree.

Lalit’s wife and elder daughter were away to the temple on Sunday morning. When they returned home, they found Lalit and the younger daughter hanging together inside the puja room in the house. After hearing their cries, the neighbours rushed in and took the father and daughter down but they had stopped breathing by then. Police has taken details of all the money lenders and is now investigating the case.
