A week long preparation for maintaining the traffic law of wearing helmets and seat belts has come into strict action from today in the city. Since last week, different organizations of automobile dealers with traffic police had calmly asked riders to wear helmets to make a safe ride.

Today, strict helmet checks were carried out at city’s most dense road Delhi Gate, many who were not wearing helmets were fined. However, lots of bikers were seen wearing helmets.

Improper traffic is one of the most complex situations the city is facing, due to high volume of vehicles, less parking space and congested roads due to illegal road side stalls plus less awareness among people are some main problem authority is fighting with since long. Many similar attempts took place in continuous gaps but without any productive results.

This time, the transport and traffic authorities are more serious as the plan of Smart Traffic Program is going to start where few of the selected city roads will come under the high monitoring zone.

Jhanalal, ASI Traffic Police Udaipol said, “Today we’ve started checking at Delhi Gate, now every day we will deploy more traffic personnel to different city circles, today we have made chalans of around 50 riders without helmets while checking at Delhi Gate.”
