Udaipur recorded its highest per day COVID hit today. 158 positive cases were reported by the CMHO from 2139 sample test reports received in the last 24 hours, which is 7% of the total reports for the day.
The highest number of single day cases before today, were recording exactly a month ago on 29 July, when 79 cases were reported in a day. Today's 158 is double of the largest number reported till yesterday and is more than the total number of cases in June (153).
Of the cases identified today, 3 are Corona Warriors (health workers), 120 new cases and 34 close contacts. New cases have risen above the close contact percentage in the last 15 days. While the first 15 days of August witnessed 63% cases being those of close contacts, the last 12 days have witnessed over 63% new cases.
The banking sector is also taking a hit with nearly 15 cases reported from ICICI Bank, 6 from HDFC Bank and two cases being identified from IIFL Bank, Udaipur.
