Udaipur city residents are facing problems with foul-smelling water in the Smart City area and low-pressure, short-duration water supply in the outskirts. City MLA Tarachand Jain met with Water Supply Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary to discuss these issues.

In the meeting, it was agreed to discuss providing an additional 20 Million Liters per Day (MLD) of water from Udai Sagar to the Hiran Magri and Pratap Nagar areas. This will be addressed in the upcoming Water Distribution Committee meeting on October 24, 2024.

Issues in Hiran Magri and Pratap Nagar

Additionally, areas like Hiran Magri and Pratap Nagar in the outskirts of the Smart City have been experiencing low-pressure and short-duration water supply. This has left the residents without sufficient water for a long time.

Solution Under AMRUT Scheme

The Minister directed the officials to resolve these problems under the The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme. Additionally, instructions were given to supply 20 MLD more water by establishing a filter plant in the Hiran Magri and Pratap Nagar areas. The final decision will be made in the Water Distribution Committee meeting on October 24.
