The work to restore the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) at the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited in Pachpadra is moving ahead at a fast pace. Commissioning is expected by June 1, following which, the refinery will soon start dispatching petroleum products.

These updates were provided by officials from HPCL, subsequent to a review visit done by Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas. He was accompanied by senior officials from the Rajasthan government, HRRL and HPCL.

Once production begins, there will be a strong impetus to industrial growth in Rajasthan; it will also strengthen the state's position in the country's energy sector, said Srinivas

As per the officials, restoration of the CDU has progressed as per the planned schedule, and commissioning activities are expected to begin from June 1, 2026. Following this, they added, if everything stays on track, the refinery may start dispatching petroleum products within a few weeks.

The other key units of the refinery, viz. Diesel Hydro Treating Unit (DHDT), Propylene Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (PFCCU), Deayed Coking Unit (DCU) and Motor Spirit (MS) Block have also reached advanced stages of commissioning.
