Anti-human trafficking squad rescued 29 children who were being taken to Gujarat for the purpose of labour. Shockingly these children were forcibly made to hide under the sleeper seats.
Child labour has become a major issue and in most of the caaes it has been observed that children are being hauled to Gujarat to work in cotton fields, saree shops and factories. 2 agents have been arrested in this case. The children are aged between 8 and 17 and were stuffed in the private buses in a space of barely 2 feet. The children were resuced by the anti-human trafficking team and were taken to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Chitrakoot nagar. These children were later shifted to a shelter home. The informers had intimated the police teams about the children being taken away to Gujarat after which the buses were searched for at Reti stand, Udaipur. The children were stuffed in beneath the seats like cattle and the sight itself was painful for the police teams.
The children hail from the areas of Jhadol, Saira, Ogna and Gogunda. The parents of these children were paid 4 to 6 thousand rupees and were told that the children will be paid for the labour. It may be noted that many a times tribes get tempted to send their children as these agents give an extravagant picture of a better life and a good amount of money. Basically children from the tribal areas become a good catch for these agents.
