Solar Plants IIM Udaipur

IIM Udaipur has taken a significant stride towards a sustainable future by installing a 500 kW solar plant on its campus, marking a significant milestone in their sustainability initiative, known as the @IIMU campaign. This initiative strongly aligns with the institute's dedication to minimizing its carbon footprint and advocating for renewable energy sources. The solar plant, designed to fulfill 30% of the institute's energy requirements, is projected to generate around 2,500 units daily, totaling an impressive 7.30 lakh units annually. This substantial energy generation is anticipated to result in an estimated yearly cost saving of Rs 18 lakhs, highlighting the economic viability of sustainable energy solutions.

Furthermore, the solar plant is expected to offset approximately 543 tons of CO2 emissions from the institute's overall carbon footprint on an annual basis, demonstrating the institution's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

As part of their ongoing sustainability efforts, IIM Udaipur has not only installed a 500 kW solar plant but has also brightened the campus with 200 solar street light poles spanning a 3.5 km stretch along the inner peripheral road. Furthermore, there are plans in motion to set up an additional 100 solar light poles within the campus, especially near the sports complex and various other venues in the near future. This multi-faceted initiative is anticipated to contribute significantly to the reduction of an estimated 85 tons of CO2 emissions from the institute's overall carbon footprint each year, underscoring their dedication to a greener and more environmentally responsible campus.

IIM Udaipur has earned a prestigious position alongside renowned global institutions like Harvard Business School, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and the MIT Sloan School. Notably, IIM Udaipur has secured its place in the Financial Times (FT) Global MIM Ranking for 2022 and the QS Global MIM Ranking for 2020, affirming its stature as a distinguished and internationally recognized educational institution.
