IIM UDAIPUR, 24th July, 2013: The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur presents the second edition of its annual flagship event, “The Leadership Summit 2013” on the 3rd August 2013. The event is aimed to serve as a platform for leaders from different walks of life, to share their opinions and views on selected themes, through engaging panel discussions.

The inaugural edition of the event, which was hosted at the resplendent Darbar hall of the City Palace of Udaipur, saw speakers like Pradeep Kashyap – CEO, MART and President (Rural Marketing Association of India), Mr. Debashish Poddar – CEO, Bombay Dyeing also grace the stage, amongst other luminaries.

Last year, the panelists deliberated on the umbrella theme “Ideation and Execution in a business cycle”, touching on importance of nurturing innovation and achieving execution excellence.

An important step between innovation and execution excellence is redesign or change. Innovation can be incorporated to achieve execution excellence only if the existing systems are redesigned. To go with this line of thought, the umbrella theme for “The Leadership Summit 2013” is the “Need to Redesign”.

The event will involve panel discussions covering a wide range of issues like the shift in focal point from urban to rural, the pressing need to redesign the supply chain and the changing roles and styles of leadership.

Shri Ashok Chawla, Chairman (Competition Commission of India) will be the key note speaker this year. The event will witness stalwarts from the industry like TCA Ranganathan, CMD (EXIM Bank); Sandip Sen, CEO (Aegis Global) amongst others.

Prof. Janat Shah, the Director of IIM-U is overwhelmed with the kind of response the event and the institute has received from the industry in such short span of time. Udaipur based companies – Hindustan Zinc – Vedanta and Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals have extended their wholehearted support in bringing industry leaders to Udaipur.
