SDO halts work, issues notice to the owner
After a news report highlighted illegal hotel construction on a hill near Baghela Talab, a district administration team, led by the Badgaon Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), conducted an inspection at the site.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the Panchayat had granted permission for the hotel construction, which was beyond its legal authority. As a result, the SDO immediately stopped the construction and summoned the owner’s tax documents.
The notice was issued to Shashikant, son of Ramavatar, of Sector-14, Savina. The SDO gave him seven days to respond. The notice pointed out that the hotel construction was taking place on plots in Revenue Village Munwas, where commercial land conversion rules were not properly followed.
The land had been converted from agricultural to commercial use, but approvals from the District Level Committee for the hotel’s layout and building plans had not been obtained. The SDO emphasized that the land is not under the Panchayat's jurisdiction for such construction.
