Resident doctors have filed a complaint regarding illegal encroachment at the entry gate of the resident hostel. Reportedly the encroachers have gone to the extent of threatening the resident doctors when the doctors opposed this illegal activity.

Walls have been constructed at the entry gate of the hostel and the encroachers said that they will not remove the wall and that they have connections with higher authorities. On Monday, the association of resident doctors wrote to the Collector appealing to have the encroachment demolished. As per the President of the association, around 200 resident doctors live in the hostel at Dilshad Bhawan at Chetak Circle. The information of this encroachment was given to Municipal Corporation in 2018 by the hospital administration. It was also pointed out that the encroaching party threatened to block the entry road if they were opposed.

Earlier the encroachment was demolished by Municipal Corporation’s anti-encroachment team, but they have come back and have occupied the area. The association has requested the Collector to take quick and strict action so that entry into the hospital becomes easy and no hospital services are affected.
