Illegal Land Cutting Bedla

Udaipur, November 6, 2024: Another case of illegal construction on the Aravalli hills has emerged in Udaipur. Construction work has been taking place on government-owned land near Ambaya Magra in Bedla for the past 4-5 days. Local residents noticed the activity and raised objections, bringing the matter to the attention of the authorities.

Construction Work on Reserved Land

According to villagers, construction work has been ongoing near the old hunting lodge in Bedla, on the hill land connected to Ambaya Magra. Excavation was done using a JCB, and a boundary wall was built. Revenue records show that the land is registered under the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA).

Complaint Filed with UDA

After the residents complained, Revenue Inspector Rajendra Sen visited the site with his team. They instructed the construction workers to stop, and the work was halted temporarily. However, the construction resumed the next day.

Violation of Court Order

The land where the construction is taking place is reserved and surrounded by a forest area. Wildlife is often seen in the region. This land also holds historical significance, as it was home to a royal hunting lodge and an ancient temple.

An initial investigation revealed that a case regarding this land is still pending in court. A stay order was issued to maintain the land’s status quo, but the construction continued despite the court’s decision. UDA is now preparing to take action against the violators.
