The panther's wounds were too deep and its neck broke after the tug of war with another panther.

A panther's body was found in an anicut in the Rama forest zone. It had deep wounds and its neck was broken.

After a fight between 2 panthers, one of the panthers died as the other one proved to be much stronger and fought for its territory with full force. The marks and wounds on the dead panther's body indicate that there was a fight, a tug of war for territory between the 2 panthers. 

The body was found in an anicut near Kukdeshwar Mahadev temple in Rama forest zone.The villagers spotted the body of the panther here and informed the forest department. 

The forest department after checking the wounds concluded that this was a fight for territory between the 2 panthers and the marks on the dead panther's body are hinting towards this. The dead panther was an 8 year old male. Post-mortem was done in the Chetak veterinary hospital.
