Incomplete Road and Drain Construction in Badgaon Leads to Flooded Homes After Rain

Local issues in Badgaon highlighted at district-level public hearing

On July 18, 2024, a district-level public hearing was held at the collectorate auditorium, where public representatives expressed their frustration over ongoing issues in Badgaon.

Sarpanch Sanjay Sharma and Panchayat Samiti member Bhuvnesh Vyas reported to District Collector Arvind Poswal that incomplete road and drain construction is causing rainwater to flood homes. They claimed that the UDA has neglected the work, citing a court stay as an excuse.

Residents Filed Multiple Complaints

Despite ducts for the drains being constructed months ago, the installation of ferro covers remains unfinished. This delay is impacting local businesses. Residents have lodged multiple complaints with UDA engineers, but no action has been taken.

The contractor responsible for the work is reportedly proceeding slowly, and the UDA has failed to enforce accountability. The public representatives requested the collector's help in addressing these issues.

Besides the UDA-related problems, other concerns were raised. These included the incomplete relocation of an illegal settlement on the government school premises, the need to shift a transformer near Pataleshwar Mahadev  Temple, and improving the drainage system for water flowing from Manoharpura to Badgaon.

Rajasthan Sampark Grievances

In addition, Collector Poswal reviewed issues related to the Rajasthan Sampark Portal and grievances registered on the CM Helpline 181. The Collector instructed officials to address issues related to water, electricity, roads, encroachments, and other departments. 123 Grievances were received, with 26 resolved immediately.
