India surpasses US in vaccine inoculation

More than 323.6 million jabs administered by India as compared to 323.3 million doses of the US.

India began its vaccination drive on 16th January 2021 whereas the US began on 14th December 2020.

All vaccine doses to be allocated, as per the new phase, to states and UTs based on their population.

India has surpassed the US in administering covid-19 vaccine to the citizens. The vaccination drive which commenced on 16th January 2021, hailed by PM Narendra Modi “keeps gaining momentum”.

India moved ahead of the United States of America in the inoculation drive. The US began administering the vaccine on 14th December 2020 whereas India began the inoculation on January 16, 2021. The inoculation numbers of India crossed 323.6 million jabs leaving the US behind at 323.3 million jabs.

Prime Minister Modi while congratulating all the people involved in the vaccination drive said that India’s vaccination keeps gaining momentum.

As per the new phase, all vaccine doses will be allotted to the states and union territories based on their population, vaccine progress and infection burden.

It may also be noted that UK has administered  7,67,74,990 jabs , France 5,24,57,288, Germany 7,14,37,514 and Italy 4,96,50,721.
