-The Union Civil Aviation Minister announced that the stranded Indians in Saudi Arabia will be brought back to India.

-The supension of the flights is an effort to curb the number of rising covid cases in the country.

To curb the rising covid cases in the country, Saudi Arabia banned international flights from 20 countries. This temporary ban includes India. A lot of Indian citizens are now stranded in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government is trying to get all its citizens back to India.

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced on Tuesday that all the stranded Indian citizens will be brought back to India. Empty flights are being sent to Saudi Arabia to bring back the stranded Indian citizens, he said.

The minister tweeted that Indians are travelling to and from 27 countries with whom India has air bubble arrangements. Now that Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary ban under the restriction due to rising corona cases, Indian planes are now flying empty to Saudi Arabia to get the Indians back home.

“We will be able to carry Saudi Arabia bound passengers once the travel restrictions on Indians are eased by Saudi Arabia," said Puri on Twitter.
