Indian government expresses gratitude to Kuwait for supply of Oxygen during its fight against the second wave

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar expressed gratitude on behalf of the Government and people of India for the assistance accorded in supplying Liquid Medical Oxygen. Kuwait had also sent other oxygen-related supplied to India in the last couple of months as India was battling the disastrous second wave.

Apart from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates were the other Middle East countries that lent a helping hand to India to combat the second wave of COVID-19.

Dr. Jaishankar also met with Sheikh (Dr.) Ahmed Nasser Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and Dr. Abdullah Issa Al Salman, Minister of Commerce and Industry, at the delegation level.

Food security, cyber security, energy sector collaboration, and concerns relating to the Indian workers in Kuwait were among the top agenda in the meeting. Other points included bilateral relations and other regional developments, as well as the fight against the global COVID-19 epidemic.

Both sides discussed the problems faced by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other vital topics such as travel restrictions and vaccination, and reaffirmed their determination to cooperatively combat the global pandemic.

A MoU for Cooperation on the Recruitment of Domestic Workers, was inked by Ambassador of India to Kuwait Sibi George and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Majdi Al Dhafiri.
