Udaipur will play host to India’s first uber luxury hotel, Raffles. Raffles is one of the top 3 luxury hotel brands globally. Accor group is planning to open 2 Raffles hotels in Rajasthan with the first starting in Udaipur and second planned for Jaipur.

Raffles will be hosted on an island in Udaisagar lake. The hotel is expected to start functioning towards mid-2020. Second property of Raffles in India will open in Jaipur in 2022. These details were shared by Accor’s global chairman and CEO Sebastien Bazin.

It is planned to have 101 rooms and suits in the Udaipur property while the Jaipur property is planned to have 55 rooms.

Raffles in Accor’s top the line luxury brand followed by Fairmont. While Accor has 51 hotels in India, Udaipur will host its first Raffles brand property.

Currently, there are only 13 Raffles hotel globally across 11 countries in cities like Singapore, Paris and Istanbul.
