The artistic sculptures that were carved during the 1st International Monumental Stone Sculpture Symposium organised earlier this year in Udaipur are now ready to be installed at different locations in the city. As part of the installation plan, art work of five international artistes would be installed by the sides of lakes. Maintenance of the sculptures would be given to the marble donors during the symposium.
Installation work has already started on Rani Road where sculptures by artists from Italy, Germany, New Zealand and two Indian sculptors, including Bhupesh Kavadia of Udaipur, would be displayed. Two of the 21 sculptures would be exhibited at Shilpgram only.
The 1st International Symposium was organized in city of lakes at Shilpgram where sculptors from various parts of the World participated. Over the month long symposium that ran from 25th March to 25th April 2013, the participants transformed raw marble into extravagant artifacts.
According to Bhupesh Kavadia, Co-ordinator, 1st Symposium, out of the 21 sculptures crafted during the symposium, two would be handed over to Shilpgram for their support throughout the event, whereas the other 19 will be placed at various parts of the city.
