According to Deepak Tanwar, Director of the Mining Department, Udaipur, the center will be built within CTAE College premises. It will offer short-term mining courses for students and professionals.
The center will provide training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analysis, and modern mining technologies. Experts from IIT Roorkee and IIT Dhanbad will be involved in the project. Research will focus on underutilized minerals and global trends in mineral usage to improve their utilization.
CTAE has been offering Mining Engineering courses since 1957. Every year, 26 students graduate in this field. The college provides B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D., research, and consultancy in mining. It is considered one of the best colleges in India for hard rock mining studies.
The Rajasthan government has announced the creation of Rajasthan Mines and Exploration Limited, a new company under Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Limited (RSMML). This company will focus on mineral assessments by experts. It will help in accurate data collection, better auctions, and improved mining processes. Currently, the government does not have a dedicated research team for this work. This step will help in better use of minerals across Rajasthan.
