Internet services in Udaipur division have been suspended for 24 hrs according to orders issued by the Divisional Commissioners office at 11pm on 26 September.
Though the mobile servie providers have stopped data services in the early hours of the morning, the ISPs are yet to take action.
As per the orders, the agitation in Dungarpur and surrounding areas has now crossed over to nearby Udaipur district. The spread of inciting and instigating messages and information across social media is expected to adversely affect social harmony and possibly impact the law and order situation in the region. Hence, the Divisional Commissioner, Vikas Bhale, has activated the temporary telecom disruption act and under the public emergency and public safety clause, ordered the suspension of Internet services for 24 hours beginning 11pm on 26 September.
Hopefully Internet services will be activated once again towards midnight else it will impact online school classes that are mostly not happening today, being a Sunday.
