The state government of the national capital has suspended mobile Internet services in selected areas (protest sites) of Delhi and NCR - Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Mukarba Chowk and Nangloi in the wake of the rising discord in the farmers protest.

The death of a protestor in Delhi has sparked danger signals in the national capital and adjoining areas, which could lead to riot like situations in the region. An order from the Ministry of Home Affairs under approval from the Union Home Secretary has been issued in this respect, which call for a suspension of internet services in the above areas till 2359hrs of 26 January in the interest of maintaining public safety and averting public emergency.
