Iran Calls Proposal Reasonable, US Says Unacceptable as Ceasefire Hangs by a Thread

Udaipur, May 12, 2026: Iran has presented its own verion of the peace proposal countering the one presented by the US administration. A spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Iranian government, in his tweet, said that the US must end its one-sided pressure and meet Iran's legitimate demands, viz. ending the war, lifting blockades, haltimg maritime piracy, freeing frozen assets and ensuring securty in the Strair of Hormuz and security in Lebanon and the extended region.

The Iranian regime, as per media reports, say that their proposal is reasonable and generous and is for the better for the region and the entire world. Iran called the proposal presented by US as influenced by Israel, which continues to insist on unreasonable demands. Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry also said that Iran has not demanded concessions and only demanded its rights.  The demands made by Iran incude halt to US piracy in the Strait of Hormuz, release of frozen assets and for an end to the war in the region, including the attacks on Hizbullah in Lebanon.

Tehran Warns of Strong Response to Aggression

Continuing the battle of narratives, the Iranian Speaker said that Tehran will be ready to respond to any aggression, which may leave the US surprised. In his tweet, Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ghalibaf said that the IRGC is ready to deliver crushing blows to any aggression addin that mistaken strategies will only bring disastrous results for the aggressors.

Israeli Offensive in Lebanon Continues

Meanwhile the violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon continues, as Israeli forces blow up a pumping station in south Lebanon, and issued news evacuation notices for villages and towns. The villages of Arzoun, Tayr Debba, Al Bazouriyah and Al Hawsh were ordered to be evacuated. Israel confirms that it has struck more than 1100 Hezbollah linked sites in Lebanon, claiming it has destryed Hezbollah buildings, weapons depots and other infrastructure in Lebanon.
