Iran Apologises, Says Will Not Strike Neighbours Unless Attacked From There
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian apologises for recent strikes on the neighbouring countries during the ongoing Middle East conflict
March 7, 2026 – Iran has said it will not target its neighbouring countries unless it is attacked from there. This was shared by Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday (March 7) in a pre-recorded address which was broadcast by Iranian State TV. He said that the Iranian interim leadership council had approved this motion on Friday.
Pezeshkian also apologised to the neighbouring countries for the recent attacks on them by Iran calling it “miscommunication in the ranks”.
"I must apologise on my own behalf and on behalf of Iran to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran. The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be made on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries," the President said on TV.
The ongoing conflict in the Middle East between US-Israel and Iran has pulled the other Gulf nations into the war, too, after Iran launched extensive missile and drone attacks on the US military bases in the countries.
Additionally, reacting to the US demand for "unconditional surrender", Pezeshkian said such expectations were unrealistic and that “They will take their dreams of us surrendering unconditionally to the grave.”
