Italian Tourist found to have Coronovirus had visited Udaipur last week

Subsequent to the Italian couple travelling to India were declared positive for Coronovirus and admitted to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, the hotel room in Udaipur where the couple was stationed before going to Jaipur, was sealed.

The couple reportedly visited many tourist spots during their stay in Udaipur. Once this news was received, the health authorities in Udaipur immediately rushed to hotel Trident and sealed the room in which the couple were staying.

Italian Tourist who was found positive for Coronavirus in Jaipur, had earlier visited Udaipur.  He, along with his group was in Udaipur on 26 and 27 February and had visited Sajjangarh, Fateh Sagar, Saheliyon ki Badi, Celebration Mall, etc among other tourist places.

A health checkup of the hotel staff was conducted and the tourist agent who accompanied the couple was also put under isolation at MB Hospital. It was also noted that one other female began complaining of cough and cold, following which she was taken to GBH American hospital and treated.

CMHO, Dinesh Kharadi told media that all tourists arriving at the railway station, bus depot or airport are being screened thoroughly.  Initially only suspects were screened.  However, after the news that the Italian tourist who visited Udaipur was found positive for COVID-19, the health department is taking no chances.
