January 25, 2025 – According to a report by Colliers India - Top 30 Emerging Cities of India - Nagpur is ranked at the top, followed by Jaipur and Lucknow. The cities were evaluated based on infrastructure, population and economic parameters.
Ahmedabad (Shela), Agra (Shastripuram), Meerut (Ganga Nagar), Chandigarh (Kharar) and Bhopal (Indus Town) have also been included in the top eight emerging micro-markets. These cities are expected to see a potential land value growth of up to 5.2 times by 2035, as per the report.

Rapid development is expected in the real estate and market sectors of these emerging cities in the coming years.
According to Swapanil Anil, managing director of Colliers India, "The expansion of expressways aids economic development. This will drive the demand for real estate, making it a promising investment opportunity for homebuyers."
Another study says that currently property stock in Indian cities is seeing a surge, making it an ideal time to buy homes.
Anil claims that it is the best time for people to invest in land in the micro-markets of emerging cities along expressways, as a return of over five times is expected in the next decade.
