A candlelight march was held at Riddhi Siddhi square in Jaipur on Saturday, October 12, by a large group of students who were demanding cancellation of the 2021 SI recruitment exam. Readers may recall that the exams have come under deep scrutiny following allegations of paper leak resulting in the arrests of many by the Special Operations Group (SOG). 

Most of those protesting had appeared in the 2021 exam but had not cleared it. The police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse them.

They had also raised slogans outside the house of BJP MLA Kirori Lal Meena demanding cancellation of the exam. Families of selected candidates have been demanding non-cancellation of the exams. 

The state government is yet to arrive at a final decision regarding its status.
