Jaisamand pal is all set to glimmer after a period of 300 years. This is the first time that the entire pal will bathe in colourful lights on Diwali.

300 years after its construction, Jaisamand pal will experience dazzling lights for the first time during Diwali. The domes(chhatris) are being decorated with colourful lights. Big bright lights have been fitted at the lamp posts alongside the pal. This festive season tourists will get to enjoy the most beautiful look of Jaisamand pal.

Even the park at the pal which was developed in 2016 has been beautified. It blooms with flowers and is a good leisure place for families and especially children. Earlier this park area was in a pathetic condition. As a result tourists would return with a bad impression. The area was full of thorny bushes and garbage. The face lift of this area now brings smiles to everybody’s face. Children can be seen enjoying the swings and tired tourists and local visitors now enjoy sitting in shade under the trees.

With the improvements made along lake side, the number of tourists has increased. Drinking water, play area, facilities, parking area, garbage bins, local snack centres etc. are giving a good feeling to the tourists. Information about wild life is also made available to the tourists in the nature centre established at the pal.

After Diwali, there are plans of fixing inter-locking tiles at the pal. From the pal to the bus stand, proper road lights will be taken care of so that the tourists do not face trouble due to darkness. Some more shady trees will be planted and temporary rest room facilities will also be taken care of.

As per Mahendra Singh Chundawat, Forest Officer-Jaisamand range, around 2,27,914 tourists have visited Jaisamand lake between the period of 7th December 2016 to 15th October 2017. This includes both domestic and foreign tourists.
