The Jaisamand pipeline of the water supply department suddenly burst on June 28,2024 evening at 6:00 PM due to high water pressure. Before reaching Teetardi, a crack near the Gatod Ji temple resulted in approximately 5 lakh liters of water being wasted. Upon receiving the information, departmental officials promptly halted the supply from Jaisamand and took control of the situation. The flowing water on the road caused temporary traffic disruption.
Repair Efforts and Supply Disruption
Department personnel worked late into the night to repair the pipeline. As a result, the water supply to around 5,000 consumers in the Savina and Hiran Magri Sector 14 colonies in the city will be disrupted.
Rescheduled Supply Timings
Areas scheduled to receive water on Friday evening will now get it on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. The supply set for Saturday morning will be provided in the evening, and the evening supply will be shifted to Sunday morning.
Water Will Be Supplied on Sunday in These Areas
Old Pipeline and Expert Opinion
According to departmental experts, the pipeline is about 30 years old and tends to burst under pressure after minor leaks. On Friday, Gopal Singh Sisodia, the Assistant Engineer (First) of the City Division, arrived at the site to halt the supply and start repair work on the pipeline.
Water Filtration and Storage
It is noteworthy that the Teetardi filter plant fills 18 to 20 MLD (million liters per day) of water daily. Before reaching the filter plant, this water is stored at PS-4 (pumping station) in Kevde Ki Naal. From there, it is pumped to Teetardi.
