Goddess Mahalakshmi will be seen dressed in jewel studded saree worth one lakh rupees and jewellery worth 4 lakh rupees this Diwali festival.

Lakshmi temple in Bhattiyani Chohatta is the only Mahalakshmi temple in Udaipur city. This area will witness the festivities at their peak from the day of Dhanteras till the day of Goverdhan Pooja. As informed by one of the trustees of the temple, Mahalakshmi’s statue will be adorned daily with beautiful dresses. Each day the dresses will be changed from time to time and Mahalakshmi will also be dressed in exquisite jewellery. This temple is around 351 years old. For the day of Diwali, special saree which is studded with precious gems worth one lakh rupees and jewellery worth 4 lakh rupees will add to the beauty of Mahalakshmi.

On the day of Diwali, the area will be converted to a no-vehicle zone and barricading by means of ropes will be done so that people can follow lane system to reach the temple and also move out of it conveniently.
