Jio Platforms Gets SEBI Approval for Rs 37,700 Cr IPO

August 29, 2026 - According to an exchange filing released August 28, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has given Jio Platforms the approval to proceed with the Initial Public Offering (IPO) which is expected to raise Rs 37,700 crore ($3.8 to $4 billion) from the market. The date and price band of the equity issue is yet to be announced.
As per reports, Jio Platforms, which is the holding company of Reliance Industries' fintech, digital and telecom companies, will issue 27 crore new equity shares.
On the larger front, the country’s IPO market is currently witnessing a long queue of companies looking to raise funds to the tune of around Rs 4.62 lakh crore. This month alone saw as many as 23 IPOs hit the market, the highest number in the past 11 months. With this, the number of IPOs launched till August of 2026 has risen to 62, compared with 49 companies that entered the market during the same period in 2025.
