Kanhaiya Lal Murder Accused Javed Granted Bail by Jaipur Bench of High Court

Mohammed Javed Masoori, one of the nine accused in the horrendous Kanhaiya Lal murder case in Udaipur in 2022 was granted bail by a Division Bench of the Rajasthan High Court on a bond of Rs 2 Lakh in addition to an amount of Rs 1 Lakh. Division bench of Justice Pankaj Bhandari and Justice Praveen Bhatnagar gave the bail orders.

Javed, one of the eight accused, was arrested by the NIA on July 23, 2022, nearly a month after Kanhaiya was murdered in his shop at Maldas Street, Udaipur. As per the NIA, Javed has done a recce of Kanhaiya’s shop on June 28, 2022, the day of the murder and had informed Muhammad Riyaz of Kanhaiya’s presence in his shop. Post this, the two main accused Riyaz and Ghous effected the murder. Javed is a resident of Kheradiwada and runs an imitation jewelry shop in Maldas Street.

NIA, the main investigation agency in this case, had arrested and framed charges against nine persons as accused in the murder case of Kanhaiya Lal or Udaipur. The two main accused were Mohammad Ghous and Mohammad Riyaz, both residents of Udaipur. Apart from these two, charges were framed against Wasim Ali, Farhad Mohammad, Mohammad Javed, Muslim Khan, Mohammad Mohsin, Arif Hussain and Mohsin Khan. Farhad, arrested under the arms act, was already out on bail after his counsel successfully argued his case for bail.
