Karnimata Cable Car Jammed, All Passengers Rescued Safely
The lives of Nine people were left hanging in mid-air when a cable car at Karnimata Ropeway got stuck in the196 meter deep valley due to a technical problem caused by wind. The incident occurred today at around 3:45pm. Fortunately, nobody was reported hurt in the mishap, though the 108-Ambulance and Police team responded immediately.

According to Jagdish Manwani, the Manager of the ropeway, the incident occurred when a cable car going towards Karnimata got held up in the middle of the route. “It was due to wind that the car got unaligned from the cable and became stationary there itself. We sent back the cable car (with people) that had already reached Dudhtalai to balance the other car that had got stuck”.

Both cars had 18 passengers in it and after nearly 25 minutes the jammed car started again and both cars safely reached their destination.
Additional Deputy Magistrate Yaseen Pathan along with Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayanand Sarang reached the spot and inspected the situation.
After a halt of 1 hour, the cable cars started operating again. The destination length from one point to other is 387 meters.
