Jain community laid their support for BJP leader Gulab Chand Kataria and has decided to keep their businesses closed for 2 hours on 31^st May. A mass demonstration against government and CBI will be organized on the same day.

The protest is the outcome of CBI’s allegation on Kataria in Soharabuddin Sheikh’s fake encounter. Kataria was then Home Minister of the State.

The decision came along today in a meeting of Shri Mahaveer Jain Parishad.

CBI named Kataria and Udaipur’s renowned marble businessman Vimal Patni in the encounter on 26^TH Nov 2005.

“The whole Jain community of Udaipur is with Gulabchand Kataria and Vimal Patni”, said one of the members of Mahaveer Jain Parishad.

On 31 May, the community will organize a protest march and will present a memorandum to district administration in the name of President of India.
