Udaipur, March 4, 2025 - The Forest Department has taken a unique initiative to provide detailed information about trees and plants at the botanical garden being developed at Kevda Ki Naal. Barcoded boards will be placed on every tree and plant, which will allow visitors to scan and learn about them.

The botanical garden will feature information about 92 different plant species. So far, data for 70 species has been collected, and boards have been prepared. Boards for the remaining 22 species will be created soon.

The barcode system will provide details like the local and botanical names of plants, their habitat, flowering and fruiting seasons, and their uses. Photos of trees, leaves, flowers, and fruits will also be displayed. This will help visitors learn about plants in any season.

Garden Spread Over 70 Hectares

The botanical garden is being developed over a large area of 70 hectares. A 5-hectare display area will showcase various plant species. One of the main attractions will be the cactus garden, featuring 80 different species of cacti.

Useful for Students and Researchers

Many school and college students visit forest parks for research but struggle to find accurate information due to the lack of experts. This initiative will help them get detailed and correct information about various plant species.

The main aim of this botanical garden is to promote research and tourism. It will allow children, young people, and visitors to see and learn about rare plant species.
