Two days after Udaipur Civil Court rejected the appeal of Khau Gali owner seeking permission to continue operation of food zone in the area, Municipal Corporation seized the premise for 3 months.

Fatehpura Vikas Samiti had filed a complaint with UMC against Khau Gali (near Sukhadia Circle) stating that commercial activities were being carried out in a residential plot of land. After receiving the complaint, UMC issued a notice to Khau Gali to stop the activities. At this, Khau Gali owner approached Udaipur Civil Court but their petition was turned down by the court after hearing arguments from both side.

26 food counters were operational at Khau Gali. The tenants and food stall owners were expectedly shocked and taken aback by the seizure of the property. The food stall owners said that they had made investment in lakhs on the business and now they are left stranded.

Siddharth Agarwal, owner of Khau Gali challenged that Fatehpura Vikas Samiti had objection related to parking and that they had made arrangements towards the same. He said that they had also received clearance from tourism department and that their file for change in land use was pending with UMC. The owner felt shortchanged given that Udaipur Chowpaty was given a 15 day notice but seizure of Khau Gali was done within 3 days.
