A one and half year old girl was handed over to a female labourer working at roadside. The woman said that she was handed over this little girl by a youth who came in an auto and forcibly gave the child in the woman's arms and left.

Some construction work is going on at road side outside the city railway station. On the day of 22nd November, a youth got down from an auto and he had this little girl in his arms. The girl was crying. He asked the female labourer if the girl belonged to her. When the woman refused, he forcibly handed over the child to her and left telling her to hand over the child to who-so-ever she belonged.

The woman took care of the girl until evening and when no one claimed this child, she went to the contractor and related the incident to him. The contractor then took the child to the police station. A missing report was lodged by police and the girl was handed over to CWC. The little girl is wearing a purple coloured T-shirt, a black thread around her neck, black thread around her left wrist, a black bangle in her right hand and some silver jewellery. 

Whether the child is abandoned or kidnapped is yet to be investigated by police. Parents of the little girl are also being searched for.
