A woman was felicitated by the Lake City Kidney Care and Relief Foundation on Mother’s Day for donating her kidney to her son. Basanti Devi’s son, residents of Salumber, had to undergo kidney transplant since son Narendra faced kidney failures. Both the kidneys of Narendra stopped functioning and the doctors said that kidney transplant was the only way out to save his life. The mother donated one of her kidneys for which she was operated in Geetanjali hospital in the month of February. Basanti Devi was felicitated for her courageous act by the foundation.
