Murari Lal Meena, the minister of state for Agricultural Marketing in Rajasthan, announced in the assembly on February 17, 2023, that the establishment of an agricultural produce market (Krishi Upaj Mandi) in the Sarada subdivision of the Udaipur district would be set up as part of the second phase of mandi construction in the state. As soon as the land is bought, a secondary market will be established in Chawand.

In the previous four years, 88 mandis had been proclaimed in the state, according to him, but the process had slowed down in the middle because new legislation had been passed. In the first phase and in the second phase, 38 agricultural produce markets will be declared, and in this phase, an agricultural produce market (Krishi Upaj Mandi) will be announced in Sarada taking into account the income and area. Currently, the department is working on 50 mandis.
