A lady succumbed to cancer at MB hospital today evening.

During the course of her treatment, she had also got infected with coronavirus and was a COVID19 patient.

However, she had been diagnosed negative on the second test and was admitted to the Corona negative ward. This is as per the information received by UdaipurTimes, from the CMHO, Dr Dinesh Kharade at 0009hrs on 18 May. The lady has been admitted to the Corona negative ward since the last 16 days, added the  CMHO.

As per CMHO, the patient had died due to Cancer Metastasis and NOT due to Corona infection. Attirubution of her death to COVID by some media channels is not correct.  This is not the first death due to Corona in Udaipur.

What is Metastasis Cancer

Metastasis is the spread of cancer cells to new areas of the body, often by way of the lymph system or bloodstream. A metastatic cancer, or metastatic tumor, is one that has spread from the primary site of origin, or where it started, into different areas of the body.

What are the recovery chances

The five-year survival rate for people diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer that has spread (metastasized) to other areas of the body is 5 percent.
