Officials Act Against Dead Fish in Jaisamand

Udaipur, November 26,2024 - After the news of contaminated water and dead fish in Lake Jaisamand, officials visited the site on Monday, November 25,2024. They collected water samples and removed the dead fish from the lake. On Sunday, November 24,2024, small dead fishes were found on the surface of the lake and foul smell lingered in the area. Tourists who visited the lake that day were shocked by the sight of lake's condition. 

Fisheries Department Removes Dead Fish
In the morning, Fisheries Department staff acted quickly and removed the dead fish from the water. They safely disposed of the fish to prevent further issues.

Contaminated Water Confirmed
The officials confirmed the bad smell in the water, acknowledging that it was contaminated. However, they were unable to explain the cause of the contamination or the fish deaths. The Water Supply and Water Resources Department officials collected more samples. 

Water Supply Suspended
Following the instructions of higher authorities, water supply was suspended in several villages, including Jaisamand, Veerpura, Gatod, and Kantoda, on Monday.

Matter Reported to Collector
The issue of contaminated water and dead fish in Lake Jaisamand was reported to District Collector Jasmeet Singh Sandhu. Further investigation will follow based on the test results.
