Udaipur journalists have protested against and condemned the recent attack on media personnel at Jodhpur over the popular Bhanwari Devi case.

In order to extend their support to the victims of the assault, a group of journalists led by Akhtar Hussain Khan – President of Lakecity Press Club reached the Collector’s office and handed a memorandum in the name of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, to the District Collector Hemant Gera.
Akhtar Hussain said, “Media persons were putting the case secularly before the people of the country and because of this, they were attacked by the alleged supporters of suspended minister Mahipal Maderna.”
Quoting it as an unfortunate incident, Akhtar Hussain criticized the attack on Media and Press reporters and demanded strict action against those who were involved in the case.
According to Akhtar, this was an act of curbing the real warriors of the fourth pillar of democracy and this cannot be tolerated.
He, along with former President of the Club, Sanjay Khabhya, and other members including Om Prakash Purbia, Tarachand Gavaria, Kapil Shrimali and many other reporters, photo journalists and media personnel were present to voice their grievance.
