Udaipur, February 7, 2025 - Under the Smart City project, a new sewer line was installed in the inner area of Brahmpol Gate, and the old one was closed. However, sewage-contaminated water has started leaking from a manhole near the Peepali Wale Temple.

Attempts were made to stop the leakage, but the problem could not be resolved. In February 2018, the Municipal Corporation's construction department built a wall to prevent the leakage. Now, this wall has broken, causing water to leak again.

Former member of the Lake Development Authority, Tej Shankar Paliwal, said that the current water level of Lake Pichola is around 8 feet 10 inches. During the monsoon, when the lake reaches its full capacity of 11 feet, the overflowing water will mix with sewage, leading to wastage.

He urged authorities to seal the manhole again in time to prevent valuable lake water from being wasted.
