Udaipur, 16.04.24 - A  young female leopard was allegedly beaten up to death by villagers after it attacked a man at Mewra village of Sagwara area of Dungarpuur 
 district.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the Mewra village of the district when one Kamla Shankar a resident of the same village  went to the pound to take a bath. It was when Kamla Shankar was returning back to his house that the leopard who was hiding in the bushes suddenly attacked him. After few minutes of struggle with the ferocious animal the victim somehow managed to move the animal away but till than he got serve injuries on various parts of his body .

The leopard moved towards a trench nearby to hide himself. Soon a number of villagers gathered on the scene after listening to the screams of the victim Kamla Shankar. 

Annoyed over the incident the villagers started pelting stones at the Leopard in which he got injured and later died due to the severe wounds.

A team of forest department later reached on the scene and pulled the dead body of the Leopard out from the trench and shifted it to the Sagwara Forest Office.

The postmortem of the dead body of the deceased Leopard will be conducted by the veterinary doctors.
